The Association of Corporate Advisers & Executives was formed as a society in 1960 by 30 founder members with the main objectives of providing a common forum for person engaged in or interested in corporate laws, taxation, audit, accounts etc. The membership strength has crossed the number of 1000 members. The Association feels pride in claiming to be one of the few of its kind in the country in which the members hail from various diverse professions like Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Cost Accountants, Advocates etc.

The Association made a modest beginning but made a consistent progress in the field of imparting knowledge to its members and non-members by holding regular meetings, seminars, group discussions, lecture meetings, conferences etc. Eminent professionals from across the country have attended such meetings and seminars. Prominent personalities including senior government officials, members of judiciary, business leaders from the industry, leaders and ministers have addressed the seminars and conferences over the years. The membership has been increasing and eminent professionals from various fields have become presidents of the Association over the last 50 years. The Association has been patronized by more than 100 leaders in their own rights hailing from various sectors of business and industry. During the Golden Jubilee Celebrations 2010, a new office of the Association was inaugurated by Hon'ble Finance Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Amit Mitra.

Over the last decade, there has been an overall change in the economic scenario throughout the world. India as a nation is now recognized as a formidable economic power and has a voice in the affairs of the world. With changes in the corporate scenario and the economic world, the corporate executives and the professionals have new challenges before them. With such backdrop in the mind, we, the Association, decided in the Golden Jubilee years to reposition ourselves in the society. We prepared a Vision Statement christened as "ACAE-Looking beyond 50 years" which guides our activities. We have now repositioned ourselves as a chamber of professionals which not only attends to the needs of the members but also bears more social responsibilities like educating the masses at large, take initiative in furtherance of the interest of business and industry, liaison with various government departments responsible for enacting and administering various corporate and revenue laws etc. It is one of the first regional organization which can be termed as a Chamber of Professionals. We are expanding our base in terms of number and profile of members.

Published since 1961, The Economic Times is India’s first pink financial daily. But it was not just colour that made ET India’s largest and world’s second-largest English financial daily, but the quality of the world with a circulation of almost 800,000 copies. It was the power of conviction that a nation of a billion people would emerge as an economic powerhouse once they competed as equals in the world market.

ET was the first to recognize the importance of economic liberalisation in this endeavour and the need to move hand-in-hand and shoulder-to-shoulder with key constituents in this journey – from students to top politicians, from common house-wives to corporate honchos. Going further than just reporting on economic and trade statistics, ET made business, money and finance not only everybody’s cup of tea but also a passion through high-quality content, path-breaking stories, incisive analytical write-ups, breaking news and scoops and out-of-the-box use of text and graphics.

It can be said without doubt that the success story of Indian corporate sector is incomplete without the contribution played in it by ET. Not only did ET spur other publishers to start financial dailies – but to this date it remains the undisputed leader with its circulation almost seven times the size of the nearest competitor.
